The Opportunity

As a Health Care Aide, you will work as a member of the care team, collaborating on the delivery of resident care. The Health Care Aide, under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse, applies their knowledge and skills to provide a wide variety of safe and thorough basic care and services to residents.

What You Will Do

- Work to your full scope of practice and provide resident-focused care.
- Observe residents for any changes in status during tub bathing, washing, cleaning, dressing, and changing. Report any changes in the resident’s condition to the staff nurse as soon as possible.
- Participate in the development of the Nursing Care Plan (NCP) by sharing observations, information, and knowledge of the residents’ needs and strengths.
- Share this information with other members of the nursing team and the health care team (Collaborative Care Model) so that the plan addresses the resident’s individual needs in a holistic way (Philosophy of Caring/Wellness Model).
- Assist and accompany residents in moving about the community, including walking and participating in functions.
- Report any unsafe activities that may cause harm or injury to a resident.

What You Will Bring

- Graduate of Health Care Aide program (or provincial equivalent certificate program with a minimum of 500 hours of theory and practicum).
- Experience working with seniors in a community health services setting.
- Robust written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer‑focus skills.
- Sound skills and knowledge of providing personal care duties.

- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification recommended.
- Ability to perform tasks necessary for the position, such as lifting and transferring clients.
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

What We Offer

- Competitive salary with health benefits and paid time off.
- Opportunities for training, education, and advancement.
- A supportive culture: a diverse and inclusive team where everyone is valued.
- Meaningful work: a real impact on residents’ lives.
- A community feel: strong connections with residents, their families, and colleagues.
- Recognition: hard work celebrated and rewarded.
