Become an essential part of the City of Whitehorse as a Water and Sewage Operator. This permanent full-time role focuses on operating water and sewage facilities while ensuring public health and safety.
As the Operator 1 in the Utility Stations department, you will monitor, test, and maintain water and sewage systems. Your responsibilities include operating treatment plants, conducting critical samplings, and performing preventative maintenance. Demonstrating leadership, you may also step in as Utility Stations Operator 2 when assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain water and sewage treatment facilities
• Conduct sampling and testing of water quality
• Monitor equipment and perform emergency maintenance




• Develop standard operating procedures and maintenance systems
• Maintain accurate records and take daily readings
Requirements:
• 12 months operating experience at a Class 1 facility
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Related certifications (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid)
• Ability to work independently in a multi-discipline environment
• Solid attention to detail and organizational skills
