Duties
Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food handling processes
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated according to safety protocols
Assist in the daily setup of the sushi station, including ingredient prep and equipment maintenance
Follow recipes and presentation guidelines to deliver visually appealing dishes consistently
Support the kitchen team during busy hours by efficiently managing multiple orders
Adhere to sanitation standards and participate in regular cleaning of work areas and tools
Experience
Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in sushi or Japanese cuisine preferred
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and meal assembly
Familiarity with food handling safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen
Experience with serving customers or providing excellent food service is a plus
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Kitchen experience within the food industry that demonstrates reliability and teamwork skills
