As a Senior Underwriter you will drive profitable growth through quality underwriting with a commercial focus.

You will collaborate with internal partners to identify new business opportunities and provide technical expertise to advisors and customers in order to price risk appropriately.

Responsibilities - Qualify underwriting files by understanding customer needs and risk characteristics to ensure top‑line and profitability benefits.
Develop and maintain cross‑functional and external relationships to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Act as an escalation point for more junior underwriters and refer risks outside of established authority levels to the appropriate approver for review and action.




Maintain the quality and profitability of the portfolio and refer all risks outside established authority levels for review.
Provide market research and analysis insights, and develop business cases for pricing, coverage and product improvements.
Contribute to the introduction and communication of pricing, coverage or product changes, including creation of underwriting bulletins and development of underwriting guidelines.
Identify loss ratio, risk trend or other discrepancies and recommend actions.
Participate in quality reviews and audits as required.
Support the maintenance of a compliant underwriting workplace in relation to guidelines and rules.

Qualifications - Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional certification or designation.
5–10 years of relevant underwriting experience in commercial insurance.
Bilingual in French and English.
