About This Opportunity
Join U+ Gavel Club as a Youth Public Speaking Mentor Volunteer and support youth aged 8-18 as they build confidence, leadership skills, and communication abilities in a fun, supportive environment!
What You’ll Do
- Encourage and support students as they deliver prepared and impromptu speeches
- Provide constructive feedback to help youth improve their public speaking and presentation skills
- Guide students in understanding and taking on meeting roles
- Help foster a respectful, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all participants
- Attend and participate in weekly or biweekly club meetings (online or in person)

- Committed to completing basic training
- Fluent in English
- Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (if over 18)
Bonus Skills
- Experience in leadership, whether from school, clubs, work, or volunteer roles
- Fluency or strong proficiency in a language other than English
