Position: Consultant Cardiologist with Special Interest in Cardiac Device Therapy Employer: Healthy Heart Institute Location: Red Deer, Alberta (T4N 3Z6) Job Type: Permanent, Fee-for-Service (full time clinical commitment) Start Date: Adaptable / as soon as possible Healthy Heart Institute is expanding its multi-disciplinary cardiology services and seeks a Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in complex device therapy to support heart failure, arrhythmia, and coronary intervention programs.

Key Responsibilities: Provide outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and on-call coverage for general cardiology and acute coronary interventions. Perform implantation, follow-up, and management of complex cardiac devices (CRT, ICD, pacemakers) and support heart failure device services.
Participate in coronary intervention (acute and elective PCI, diagnostic angiography) and catheter lab sessions. Contribute to electrophysiology services, MDT meetings, and service development.



Train and supervise junior doctors in device implantation and coronary intervention.
Streamline patient pathways to reduce treatment times and hospital stays. Qualifications Required: MD FRCPC (or equivalent) + specialist qualification in Cardiology (MRCP UK, CCT/CCST or equivalent). Fellowship training in electrophysiology/devices and interventional cardiology.
Minimum 20+ years of consultant-level experience in tertiary and district general hospitals, including establishment of EP/device services. Eligible for independent licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). Excellent communication and team-working skills.
