We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Wharf Construction Labourer to assist in the building of a wharf on the East Coast. The ideal candidate is physically fit, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in outdoor and waterfront environments. Travel to and from the job site, meals and accommodations will be provided, working a two weeks on one week off rotation.
Duties
Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, equipment operators) in wharf construction activities
Perform manual labour such as digging, lifting, carrying heavy materials, and operating basic tools under supervision.
Support the installation of structural components like cribs, beams, and decking according to project specifications.
Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work workplace for yourself and team members.
Collaborate with team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively
Work in varying weather and tidal conditions
Qualifications
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Previous construction or general labour experience preferred (marine construction an asset)
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards learning current skills.
Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly and work effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
Comfortable working near or over water
Assets:
Completion of safety courses; WHMIS 2015, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Powerline Hazards etc.
Valid Driver's License
