The Alma Mater Society seeks an Advocacy Coordinator to assist UBC students in conflict resolution. This role emphasizes support for academic misconduct and housing issues in a part time capacity. In this position, you'll help students navigate disputes with the University, including misconduct allegations and housing appeals.

Your responsibilities will include guiding hearings, documenting cases, and mentoring Advocacy Assistant Coordinators. You will work closely with the Manager of Student Services to enhance outreach and engagement. Key Responsibilities:
Directly support students with academic and housing conflicts
Facilitate meetings to navigate procedural complexities
Assist students in preparing for university hearings
Document case progress and manage service user interactions
Conduct research for advocacy improvements and resources Requirements:
Current UBC student or linkage to a college
Enrollment in a JD program or legal background
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with vulnerable individuals
Knowledgeable about administrative law principles Support UBC students in understanding their rights and advocating for them effectively.
