Position Overview

ABC Recycling Ltd. is seeking a General Labourer to be based out of our Terrace, B.C. location. The job holder will be responsible for analyzing, sorting, cutting, and packaging non-ferrous metals for storage in the warehouse and for transport out of the yard.

Responsibilities

- Receives metals from customer and assists in unloading if required
- Assesses and weighs various types and grades of non-ferrous metals
- Maximizes mix loads of scrap from customers by sorting, high-grading and segregating accordingly
- Dismantles scrap materials and removes high value metals from them
- Ensures property, facilities, and equipment remain in good order
- Communicates with customers and ensures they receive professional service
- Cuts larger too thick pieces of metal into smaller marketable pieces

Qualifications

- Must be mechanically inclined
- Knowledgeable about general safety practices
- Able to communicate professionally
- Willing to work in an outdoor setting (rain or shine)
- Ability to use a forklift or skid steer is an asset




- Experience with sorting and allocating non-ferrous metals, preferably in a busy, high volume scrap yard is considered an asset
