Join IWSO as a part time Therapeutic Counsellor, providing invaluable assistance to immigrant women in crisis. You'll offer both individual and group counselling in a hybrid work setting.
The Therapeutic Counsellor at IWSO will work with immigrant and racialized women facing or at risk of violence. Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of relevant counselling experience and educational qualifications in psychology, social work, or counselling. Your focus will be on trauma-informed care, advocacy, and fostering access to community resources for these vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver culturally sensitive counselling to individuals and groups • Facilitate support and empowerment among clients • Conduct assessments and offer advocacy services • Refer clients to additional community resources • Act as a resource for the Crisis and Counselling Services Team
Requirements: • Minimum 3 years counselling experience in domestic or sexual abuse • Familiarity with services for abused women • Proficient in Microsoft Office and online communication tools • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills • Must undergo Police Record Check for hiring process
