Job Title: Line Cook

Location: Kitchen’s - U of W Main Campus

Job summary:

The line cook will assist in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, making salads, putting together entrees and various and sundry kitchen jobs. This job requires that the line cook will act in a way that promotes and maintains productive and positive working relationships with open channels of communication, is welcoming of diversity, and is consistent with UWCRC and SEED Winnipeg's definition of promoting and strengthening community relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain composure during times of high customer volume that create a pressure situation
Maintain a clean and attractive dining hall and dish pit area
Deliver superior kitchen service to customers and the kitchen team by responding efficiently to needs
Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Diversity Food Services




Communicate with the Management team and co-workers in ways that promote understanding and contribute to the effectiveness of the team
Assist with training recent Kitchen and Front of House staff by positively reinforcing successful performance; giving respectful & encouraging coaching as required
Contribute to positive team setting by promoting team morale
Follow all Management operational policies and procedures, including those for safety and security of all employees; food safety rules; and all applicable regulations pertaining to the University of Winnipeg
Punctual and consistent attendance at every shift
Adhere to all Management food policies and presentation standards; follow all health, safety and sanitation guidelines
Willing participation in duties that contribute to Diversity Food Services effectiveness as determined by the Management Team

Pay: $16.00-$16.75 per hour
