Lead forest regeneration at UBC's Alex Fraser Research Forest in Williams Lake, BC. As a Resident Forester, engage in silviculture planning, management, and compliance activities. This role focuses on overseeing regeneration obligations and managing budget tasks within the diverse operations of the Research Forest.
You will make complex silviculture decisions and work closely with teams to ensure forest health and development meet legal, environmental, and organizational standards. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, adaptable, and skilled in both technical and qualified forestry practices. Key Responsibilities:
Supervise silviculture planning and development operations
Ensure compliance with legal and UBC policy guidelines
Manage log quality control and revenue estimates
Prepare and monitor annual budgets exceeding $2 million
Lead cooperative initiatives with First Nations and stakeholders Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline
Minimum three years of forestry-related experience
Knowledge of BC Forest and Range Practices Act
Class V Driver’s License and Level II First Aid
