Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Restaurant Server role based at Broken Plate in Calgary, AB.
The Restaurant
Server is responsible for greeting guests, presenting menus, answering questions about food and beverages, and providing recommendations as needed. Daily tasks include taking orders accurately, communicating with kitchen and bar staff, delivering food and drinks promptly, and checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction. The role also involves processing payments, handling cash or card transactions, maintaining clean and organized tables and service areas, and following health and safety standards. Servers are expected to work as part of a team,
support colleagues during busy periods, and contribute to an efficient, friendly, and qualified dining setting.
Qualifications
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact courteously and professionally with guests and team members.
Effective communication skills, including clear verbal communication and active listening to accurately take and relay orders.
Basic math and cash-handling skills, with attention to detail when processing payments and managing receipts.
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, multitask, and stay organized during peak service times.
Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn food safety and hygiene practices, including local health regulations.
Previous serving or hospitality experience is an asset but not strictly required; training may be provided.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays, dishes, and beverages safely.
