Help vulnerable clients as a Victim/Witness Services Worker in Ottawa. Leverage your crisis intervention skills and comprehensive case management to assist individuals in the criminal justice system. This role within the Victim/Witness Assistance Program requires a dedicated skilled who understands the emotional needs of victims and witnesses.
Engage with clients to provide support throughout their legal journeys, ensuring they are informed about their rights. Collaborate with various agencies to facilitate access to crucial services while documenting case progress for accurate monitoring. Key Responsibilities:
Guide clients through the criminal court process
Deliver emotional support using a trauma-informed approach
Advocate for resources with community and justice partners
Maintain detailed case management records
Involve in public education programs and service improvements Requirements:
Advanced competence in English and French
Proven ability in crisis management and support
Familiarity with victims’ rights legislation
Capacity to handle urgent deadlines
