Title: Tomm’s Food Village Meat Cutter Position

Overview

Tomm’s Food Village is an independent family owned and operated full-service grocery store, located in the small community of Bowser, BC. We are currently hiring to fill a full time meat cutter position.

Key Accountabilities/Activities:

Tomm’s Food Village prides itself in providing excellent customer service and quality meat products, including beef, pork, lamb, poultry, and seafood. The Meat Cutter will be able to work in a fast-paced workplace while providing friendly and courteous customer service.

Primary Activities include:

· Cutting, trimming, grinding, and preparing meat for retail sale using knives, meat saws, meat grinders, and meat slicers, while adhering to food safety and occupational safety standards

· Weighing, wrapping, and pricing (labelling) cut meat in preparation for sale

· Keeping the meat merchandizer well stocked, organized, and clean at all times

· Managing inventory, rotating stock, and monitoring the quality of products for sale

· Fulfilling special customer requests/orders

· Slicing, weighing,

· Cooking and preparing food for hot food merchandizer, and serving customers with hot food

· Maintaining clean work spaces and equipment in accordance with organizational and food safety standards

· Other duties as assigned

Employment Requirements

Must be:

· Customer service orientated

· Thorough and have high attention to detail

· Work independently and in a team setting

· Able to properly handle/operate knives, meat slicers, meat saws, meat grinders, ovens, computer scale, and other equipment in a protected manner

· Able to follow directions

· Able to lift a minimum of 25 kg (55 Lbs.)

· Able to adhere to occupation safety, food safety, and organizational standards

· Available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays

· Must have past experience in meat cutting (formal training is preferred)

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
