M’Chigeeng First Nation is hiring a Waste Management Technician to oversee daily operations at the waste transfer station.
Your role will enhance community waste management and environmental practices. In this part time role within the Capital Projects and Public Works department, you will be responsible for managing the waste transfer station's daily functions. This includes traffic direction, assisting with waste disposal, and maintaining site compliance with management policies. Your ability to educate community members will foster better waste practices and environmental stewardship. Key Responsibilities:
Open the site and ensure security each day
Direct community traffic and assist users
Reject unacceptable waste items and educate on sorting
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the transfer station
Collaborate with waste haulers for productive operations Requirements:
Completion of high school diploma
One year experience in related field preferred
Must have a G2 class driver’s license
Solid customer service skills and public interaction
