About Us

Descartes Academy is an established after-school learning centre offering small-group classes and one-on-one support for students of all ages. We value a positive learning setting, teamwork, and educators who are committed to helping students succeed.

Responsibilities
Teach small-group classes of up to 6 students in a safe, positive, and well-organized learning setting.
Deliver lessons in accordance with the Descartes Academy curriculum.
Administer and evaluate assignments, quizzes, and tests (will be provided by Descartes Academy) to monitor student progress.
Provide academic support and address learning or classroom behavior concerns as needed.
Prepare clear and constructive progress reports for students and parents.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.

Qualifications




Bachelor's degree from a recognized university (required).
For Mathematics instructors, completion of post-secondary mathematics courses is required.
Previous teaching or tutoring experience is needed must be familiar with Ontario curriculum
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is an asset, but not required.
Solid communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Passion for helping students succeed and creating a positive learning environment.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
