Support Indigenous youth by joining Closer To Home Community Services as an Indigenous Youth Overnight Care Staff in Calgary. This role focuses on ensuring safety and promoting well-being for Indigenous children and youth.
You will play a critical role in the Matomai'tsitapisskoyis program, collaborating with diverse teams to meet the unique needs of each youth. Responsibilities range from monitoring safety to facilitating daily routines and skill-building opportunities, all while fostering a supportive workplace enriched by cultural values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the safety and support of children and youth
• Carry out hourly safety checks and document activities
• Address emergencies and unusual behaviors promptly
• Support mental,
emotional, and spiritual health strategies
• Manage household tasks and assist with medication
Requirements:
• Preferred education in a related field
• Experience with community group care programs
• Understanding of culturally responsive practices
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for work
