Step into the role of Infection Control Expert at the Saskatchewan Health Authority, responsible for implementing infection control measures and providing training in IPAC practices. This role is vital for preventing infectious diseases while promoting healthcare safety.
The Infection Control Practitioner reports to the Manager and needs a degree in Nursing or acceptable Health Sciences. You will utilize your knowledge of epidemiology and microbiology to support the implementation of effective programs, investigate outbreaks, and consult as an expert resource.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the execution of the Infection Prevention and Control program
• Educate staff and patients on infection control protocols
• Provide expert consultancy on IPAC issues
• Participate in related research and quality improvement
• Control and investigate infectious disease outbreaks
Requirements:
• Degree in Nursing or relevant Health Sciences field
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Current CIC certification is beneficial
• Robust written and verbal communication skills
• Leadership and independent working capabilities
