Step into a full time Clinical Phlebotomist role with the University of Kansas Health System, working in various medical pavilions. This position focuses on patient safety during specimen collection and compliance with lab protocols.
As a Phlebotomist, you will be the essential link between patients and quality laboratory services. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, processing specimens, and ensuring accurate patient identification. You will support nursing staff and manage clerical duties while maintaining a high level of professionalism within the clinical laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute blood draws following established safety protocols
• Collect and process specimens accurately
• Monitor patients for reactions during procedures
• Enter orders and data into laboratory systems
• Communicate with nursing staff and patients regarding procedures
Requirements:
• High School diploma required
• Minimum of 6 months experience or completion of phlebotomy training
• Advanced skills in both adult and pediatric phlebotomy preferred
• Certification from ASCP is a plus
• Strong understanding of communication in English
