Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled IBM DataStage Developer to design, optimize, and maintain robust data integration solutions. You will build scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to move data securely into our data warehouses and data repositories. A background in data warehousing, high-performance SQL query optimization, and Unix scripting is critical for this role.
Key Responsibilities
ETL Pipeline Development : Design and build high-performance parallel and sequence jobs using IBM InfoSphere DataStage.
System Integration : Extract data from diverse sources including Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, XML files, and flat files.
Performance Tuning : Identify data processing bottlenecks and optimize DataStage job configurations for maximum speed.
Stage Configuration : Utilize specific DataStage components like Transformer, Lookup, Join, Merge, Filter, and Aggregator.
Database Programming : Write and refine complex SQL, PL/SQL queries, and stored procedures.
Automation & Scripting : Create Unix/Linux shell scripts to automate ETL job execution and file management.
Production Support : Troubleshoot data load failures,
conduct root-cause analysis, and fix bugs under strict SLAs.
Data Modeling Collaboration : Work alongside data architects to map out source-to-target data flows and schema designs.
Documentation : Produce thorough technical design specifications, mapping artifacts, and unit testing logs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
DataStage Expertise : Minimum of [X] years working specifically with IBM InfoSphere DataStage (v11.5 or higher preferred).
Database Architecture : Advanced mastery of relational database concepts, data warehousing schemas (Star/Snowflake), and data marts.
SQL Mastery : Strong ability to write, debug, and profile intricate database queries.
OS & Automation : Comfortable operating within Unix/Linux settings and scripting automation workflows.
Methodologies : Experience working in an Agile/Scrum workplace using tracking tools like Jira.
