Site Reliability Engineer, Data Platforms

What You Will Do
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks) and Microsoft Fabric.
Build solutions for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption that meet business requirements for performance and reliability.
Provide operational support for our data platforms, including troubleshooting data-related issues, responding to incidents, and fulfilling support requests.
Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver effective solutions.
Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and logging for all data platform components to ensure system health and proactive issue detection.
Focus on automating manual processes, improving system reliability, and defining Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventative measures.

What You Bring




Proven experience with data engineering, with a robust background in cloud data platforms.
Hands-on expertise with the Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure data stack, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python or PySpark for data manipulation and pipeline development.
Experience with data engineering support, incident management, and troubleshooting in a production workplace.
Familiarity with SRE principles and practices, including monitoring, automation, and reliability engineering.
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile environment.
Robust communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
