As a Community Van Support Worker with Main Street Project, you will provide critical outreach services in Winnipeg, addressing the needs of those experiencing homelessness. This full time role focuses on aiding vulnerable populations during nights.
Your responsibilities will include driving outreach vans, delivering essentials like food and clothing, and conducting wellness checks. By employing harm reduction strategies, you will facilitate access to resources while ensuring individuals feel respected and valued. Collaborate with a dedicated team and engage with community partners to enhance care delivery. Key Responsibilities:
Distribute food, clothing, and harm reduction supplies
Operate MSP’s vans for community transport needs
Monitor and support individuals in emergency situations
Conduct visits to encampments and assess needs
Maintain thorough documentation of outreach activities Requirements:
Experience in outreach or human services
Understanding of mental health and addiction issues
Robust interpersonal and communication capabilities
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and First Aid certification
