Basic Requirements

Sound mechanical/electrical aptitude with proven ability to work with hands
Interest in making or building things, constructing and doing repairs
Grade 12 education. Elevator Devices Mechanic – Trainee (EDM-T)
Electrical Courses completed will be a plus
Driver’s license in valuable standing, clean police check, bondable Main Duties – Elevator Apprentice perform the following duties:
Work safely
Work as a team and take direction from lead mechanic
Drive to job site location and/or arrange with mechanic sometimes for car pooling
Quality work – no short cuts. Working with Lead Mechanic make sure all items are checked and the elevator is running flawlessly on completion
Complete elevator installation on time and in the allocated hours
Skilled conduct and ethical values – be courteous, polite and use good judgment when dealing with customers, other trades, colleagues and company policies
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Able to move and lift heavy objects
Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships — developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time
