Role Description The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role located in Airdrie, AB. In this position, the Estimator assesses vehicle damage, prepares accurate repair estimates, and explains recommended work to customers in clear, accessible terms.
The role involves inspecting vehicles, documenting damage, sourcing parts, and working closely with technicians to confirm repair methods and timelines. The Estimator also communicates with insurance companies, updates estimates as needed, and ensures all work complies with shop standards and applicable regulations. Daily responsibilities include maintaining detailed records, following up on approvals,
and supporting a smooth workflow in the repair process.
Qualifications
Ability to accurately assess vehicle damage, interpret repair requirements, and prepare detailed cost estimates.
Strong communication skills for explaining repairs to customers, collaborating with technicians, and coordinating with insurance representatives.
Basic understanding of auto body repair processes, parts, and materials; prior experience in an auto body or automotive service setting is an asset.
Comfort with using estimating software, digital imaging tools, and standard office applications for documentation and reporting.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
Commitment to safety practices and quality standards in all aspects of the estimating and repair process.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in auto body estimating or automotive repair are beneficial.
Ability to work on-site full time in Airdrie, AB, and to stand, walk, and inspect vehicles in a shop setting.
