Duties
Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity and ocular health
Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and pediatric eye issues
Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or treatments tailored to individual patient needs
Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of optical products
Collaborate with optical staff to recommend suitable eyewear options and ensure proper fitting
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic or similar platforms
Stay current with the latest advancements in optometry practices and optical technology to provide cutting-edge care
Requirements
Valid Ontario Optometry License with active registration and compliance with provincial regulatory standards
Proven experience in optical practice, including familiarity with pediatric and senior care populations
Robust knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health and ocular conditions
Experience working with electronic health record systems such as Epic or comparable platforms
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient needs
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to patients of all ages
Sales aptitude for recommending appropriate optical products while prioritizing patient well-being
