We are seeking a skilled and friendly Barista / Cafe Attendant to join our team. The Cafe Staff will greet customers, take orders, prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be able to work in a fast-paced setting, and have a passion for coffee and tea.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to standard recipes.
Operate the espresso machine and other equipment efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and dining areas.
Assist customers in selecting menu items and provide exceptional service throughout their visit.
Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system and ensure proper cash handling procedures.
Monitor inventory levels of supplies and communicate needs to management.
Follow food safety protocols in food preparation and handling.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Qualifications
Previous experience in coffee service or the food industry is preferred but not required.
Strong math skills for handling cash transactions and making change accurately.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling safety standards.
Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced workplace.
Ability to operate POS systems and perform basic math calculations.
A friendly demeanor with excellent communication skills to engage with customers effectively.
Knowledge of coffee and tea brewing techniques.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, and reach.
