The Benue is hiring a dependable server and food prep person to assist customers, operate the POS system and help prepare and package Nigerian food orders for dine-in, takeout and online delivery.
Responsibilities
Welcome customers and provide friendly service
Take dine-in, telephone, takeout and delivery orders
Enter orders accurately into the POS system
Process cash, debit and credit-card payments
Monitor online delivery platforms
Package and label takeout and delivery orders
Confirm orders are complete before handing them to customers or drivers
Explain menu items, ingredients and spice levels
Assist with basic food preparation and portioning
Wash, chop and package ingredients as directed
Restock containers, drinks, cutlery and condiments
Serve dine-in customers when required
Maintain clean tables, counters and service areas
Complete opening, closing and cleaning duties
Coordinate with kitchen staff during busy periods
Requirements
Restaurant, cashier,
server or food-preparation experience preferred
Comfortable using POS systems and delivery tablets
Familiarity with Nigerian food is an asset
Solid customer-service and communication skills
Able to multitask in a quick-paced restaurant
Reliable, punctual and organized
Food Handler Certification preferred
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Evening and weekend availability required

Pay: $17.60-$25.90 per hour
