Responsibilities
- Be enrolled in/completed diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
- Support and embrace our resident‑centered social culture
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care that focuses on flexible living and quality of life
- Plan and implement programs
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
- Knowledge of recreational therapy practices,
methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well‑being and holistic health
- An understanding of the relevant sections of the Long‑Term Care Homes Act, 2007
