Candidates must currently reside in Canada or be willing to relocate to Current Brunswick prior to employment. Some travel may be required as part of this role. This role is based in Hillsborough, NB and requires a minimum of 7–10 years of structural engineering design experience. Experience with timber engineering and finite element analysis software, particularly LUSAS, is considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural engineering design and analysis for timber and rehabilitation projects
Conduct finite element analysis using LUSAS or similar engineering software
Develop and maintain engineering design spreadsheets and calculations
Review structural designs, technical drawings, and project documentation
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet technical and quality standards
Utilize Microsoft Excel and other engineering software for analysis and reporting
Participate in site visits and occasional travel as required
Support project execution while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and engineering standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
Valid P.Eng. designation in Canada
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in structural engineering design
Robust experience with finite element analysis software (preferably LUSAS)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and engineering design spreadsheets
Experience reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction practices
Experience in timber engineering is considered an asset
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Must possess a valid passport or be eligible to obtain one
Fluent English required
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and willing to relocate to New Brunswick
