Home Share is a residential option for adults with developmental disabilities in which the individual shares a home with a care provider who provides ongoing, individualized support. This option provides an ideal balance of support and independence. For some, this is a step towards greater independence, while for others it is a lifelong living arrangement.
Job description
We are currently seeking people who are interested in becoming a Home Share Provider supporting people with developmental disabilities, in their home for the Vancouver Coastal Region. The Home Sharing Provider will enter a contractual agreement with the IFRC and will receive room and board and additional support funding linked to the individual served.
Home Share providers will provide direct support in all areas of living. This may include, meal preparation, medication monitoring and reminders, hygiene, recreation, leisure, socialization, life skills and community participation.
Basic Requirements:
The IFRC will assist contractor applicants through the required Home Sharing application process.
A home study
References/background check
Criminal record check for working with vulnerable adults
Physician's certificate of valuable health
Valid driver's license
Valid First Aid w/CPR
WCB Insurance
