Operations Technician - Vancouver Island, BC
Our client is a growing construction firm specializing in heavy civil projects, and they’re seeking an Operations Technician to support field activities, track production, and ensure efficient project execution. This role acts as a bridge between on-site operations and project management, providing technical and logistical support to keep projects running smoothly.

Responsibilities
Support daily construction operations across multiple project sites.
Track equipment usage, labor hours, and production output.
Coordinate field logistics, including deliveries, equipment scheduling, and material requests.
Maintain accurate daily reports, production logs, and operational records.
Assist with work planning, scheduling, and forecasting.
Monitor project performance against budgets and production targets.
Support estimating, quantity verification, and tender preparation.
Prepare operational dashboards and KPI reports.
Assist with quality assurance, safety initiatives, and environmental compliance.
Manage equipment and fleet records, including mobilization and demobilization.
Participate in site meetings and communicate operational priorities.

Qualifications
Experience in heavy civil construction or infrastructure projects preferred.
Knowledge of heavy equipment operations and construction sequencing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
Familiarity with GPS machine control, construction software, or project management systems is a plus.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work in both office and field environments.
A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, or a related field is considered an asset.
