Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant preferably a registered Pharmacy tech to join our healthcare team for a temporary contract. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in pharmacy entering prescriptions and a sound understanding of billing. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a clinical setting, contributing to patient care and medication management. Prior hospital or pharmacy technician experience is preferred, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures.
Duties
Assist pharmacists in entering ,preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
Manage patient records, update medication profiles, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance on over-the-counter products when appropriate
Maintain inventory levels, restock shelves, and ensure proper storage of medications according to safety standards
Process insurance claims and handle billing procedures as needed
Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and documentation
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to medication handling and patient privacy
NOTE: This is a 4 month fixed contract to cover maternity leave. Part-time is required from September 1st. Training and Part time hours available from July 2026.
Skills
Previous hospital or pharmacy technician experience is highly desirable
Robust knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration processes
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
Compassionate patient care skills with a focus on accuracy and safety
Ability to multitask efficiently in a rapid-paced workplace
High level proficiency for managing electronic health records and pharmacy software systems is a must.
