Join Canadian Hearing Services in London as a GSS Counsellor, supporting adults who are culturally Deaf and hard of hearing. Help them navigate their communities and access vital services every day.
This permanent, full-time role reports to the Program Manager and is integral in providing individual support services to adults aged 16+. With your counseling and case management experience, you'll assist clients in maintaining independence and advocating for accessibility in their communities. Proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individual support services to adults 16+ years
• Assist clients in accessing services and supports
• Advocate for community-wide accessibility and sensitivity
• Manage cases related to income supports and landlord-tenant concerns
• Collaborate with family members for client support
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or equivalent
• 2-3 years’ counseling experience with the Deaf community
• Robust organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities
• Willingness to learn American Sign Language
