Join Nova Scotia Health as a Health Care Social Worker at Halifax Infirmary. This part time role emphasizes psychosocial assessments, crisis counseling, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
This casual hourly position offers a diverse range of interventions within the Medical-Surgical and Heart Health department. With an emphasis on client advocacy and education, you'll engage in case management, discharge planning, and support therapy, all while working autonomously and collaboratively.
Two years of clinical experience is required, along with a Master's degree in social work and registration eligibility with NSCSW.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans
Provide crisis intervention and supportive therapy
Advocate for clients and educate on community resources
Supervise social work students during placements
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive care
Requirements:
Master's degree in social work from a recognized institution
Minimum of two years of clinical social work experience
Solid skills in communication and counseling
Knowledge of theories related to human behavior
Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team
