Job Summary & Key Responsibilities Duties include full responsibility for delivery and administration of teaching duties (lecture prep and delivery according to course syllabus; exam prep, delivery, and marking; TA supervision, etc.) for PHYC 2515 Up-to-date Physics (Fall 2026).

This course introduces two physics revolutions: Einsteins theory of special relativity and the theory of quantum mechanics.

Significant early experiments are considered throughout the course.

Topics include length contraction, time dilation, and relativistic kinematics, and complex wave functions.

Lectures: Tuesdays and Thursdays: 8:30am to 10:00am Reasonable office hours should be available to students.

Position reports to the Chair of the Department of Physics & Atmospheric Science.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position Candidates must have an advanced degree in Physics (MSc or PhD).

Critical thinking skills and relevant teaching experience at the University level is required, as well as excellent computing, organization, and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, foster student learning, work collaboratively with diverse faculty and students,



and contribute to an inclusive academic environment are required.

Salary Range/Pay Rate As per CUPE Collective Agreement.
