Support Women's Shelter clients in a protected environment with The Salvation Army. This part time role focuses on monitoring, emotional support, and crisis intervention across Saturday and Sunday shifts.
The Salvation Army is looking for a committed Shelter Support Worker for its Women's Shelter. This position requires active monitoring of clients, conducting intake interviews, and fostering a supportive community atmosphere. Bringing about positive lifestyle choices through harm reduction practices plays a key role in client well-being and program delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor safety and security of clients and facility
Conduct intake interviews and assess program suitability
Provide crisis support and advocacy to clients
Maintain accurate daily logs and incident reports
Support clients in adopting positive lifestyle choices
Requirements:
Completion of Grade 12 plus specialized training
Three months of related experience or more
Skills in working with diverse populations
First Aid, CPR, and Food Protected certification
Ability to handle physical tasks and carry up to 30 lbs
Make a meaningful impact by supporting clients in their journey towards stability and growth.
