Position Overview Under the direction of the Manager Health Services, the Activities Worker plans and provides recreational therapy for each individual resident of Dancing Sky Personal Care Home.

The Activities Worker is responsible for program development and social activities both inside and outside of the facility.

Experience Previous experience working with the elderly or volunteer work with the elderly is desirable.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Must have grade 12 or equivalent. A degree or certificate in recreational activities or physical education would be an asset.

Certification/Licensure/Registration Not Applicable Qualifications and Skills Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.





Ability to work independently as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to exercise skilled judgement, initiative and discretion.

Physical Requirements Possible heavy lifting at times.

Possible eye strain.

Possible posture and muscle problems.

Possible contact with clients/patients with aggressive behaviour.

Other demands as it pertains to position.

Possible exposure to communicable diseases.

Extreme outside weather conditions.
