Lead animal welfare at the Ottawa Humane Society as the Manager of Animal Care. This full time role oversees shelter operations, ensuring compliance and managing a dedicated team in our community.
The Manager: Animal Care plays a pivotal role in a mission-driven team, supporting animal welfare since 1888. This in office 18-month contract requires robust organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively. You will make vital decisions regarding animal care while managing staff productivity and adherence to SOPs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee shelter operations and animal welfare compliance
• Make informed animal care decisions daily
• Manage and lead a large team of animal care staff




• Maintain productivity while handling multiple tasks
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
• Registered Veterinary Technician designation preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in animal care management
• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing staff
• Proficient in spoken and written English
