Who we are The Young Offenders Facility (YOF) provides direct supervision, care and custody of youth aged 12 to 17 at the time of offence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The Youth in custody at YOF often have complex history or risk factors including substance use, mental health diagnosis, exposure to abusive/traumatic situations, challenging socioeconomic factors, gang affiliation, gender diversity and/or various cultural and spiritual backgrounds.
Who we are looking for We are looking for Youth service workers who strive to establish a positive and professional relationship with youth in the context of therapeutic and trauma informed practices.
This is achieved through a lens of cultural understanding, rehabilitative programming, positive leadership, reinforcing boundaries, while following operational policies and procedures.
As a Youth Service Worker, you possess a genuine interest in working with youth to build resiliency, pro-social skills, and protective factors to reduce the risk of re-offending while ensuring the safety, security, and confidentiality of youth, staff, facility, and community.
