Job Description The Saskatchewan Health Authority-Saskatoon Integrated Service Area is seeking a full time medical biochemist (1.0 FTE) to join the Division of Clinical Biochemistry in the Laboratory Medicine program.

This full-time position is based in Saskatoon, supporting all clinical sites in Saskatoon Integrated Areas.

The successful candidate will join a group of laboratory professionals with diverse clinical and scientific expertise.

The Saskatoon Laboratory Medicine is affiliated with the Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine in the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan.

The Department has an accredited General Pathology residency training program, Clinical Biochemistry fellowship training program and provides training/teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral levels, and training for medical laboratory technologists and assistants.

The service responsibilities of this position will include quality oversight, equipment/method selection and validation, pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical processes, appropriate test utilization,



testing result interpretation and clinical consultation/liaison with physicians, nurses and allied health specialists, and participation in on-call services.

The academic responsibilities include teaching in the General Pathology Residency, Clinical Biochemistry fellowship training program, other Medical Education programs, and cooperative/independent research.

The successful candidate is eligible for a faculty appointment with the University of Saskatchewan.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to work in team settings, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Language of work: English Location of Practice: Saskatoon Job Qualifications The candidate must hold an MD degree, have completed specialty training in internal medicine or pathology, and have a medical biochemistry fellowship.
