Program Overview Indigenous Pathways is a paid, full‑time, nine‑month learning and development prospect designed to support First Nations, Inuit, or Métis individuals in honing their professional skills at CBC. The program provides training within an all‑Indigenous cohort, personalized career development, and hands‑on work experience. No prior media production education or job experience is required to apply. The current program runs from October 2026 through June 2027.
Role Requirements
First Nations, Inuit, or Métis
Deep interest in digital and video storytelling
Passionate about music, arts, and culture within your community or beyond
Eager to gain practical, hands‑on experience at CBC
Curiosity about technology, and interest in developing technical skills in media archives and Indigenous multimedia content
Critical thinker who demonstrates solid ethics and integrity
Collaborative communicator and team player
Responsibilities
Develop essential skills and tools for a career in media, libraries and archives
Build meaningful relationships with mentors, trainers, peers, and Indigenous colleagues
Gain valuable skilled experience
Candidate Background Requirements
Skills or affinity for research
Some knowledge of the importance of metadata and interest in indigenizing metadata and research
Interest in or willingness to learn how to use AI or technology to support access and retrieval of archival content
