WAGE RATE: $41.15 - $58.98
Reporting to the Manager Surgical Services, the responsibility of the registered nurse is to promote health and assess, provide, and treat health conditions by supportive, preventative, and therapeutic measures to adults and children during phase I and II recovery within the perianesthesia setting in Day Surgery and PACU.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
Required
Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility
Minimum 2 years PACU and acute care nursing experience within the past 5 years
Broad surgical experience required in all subspecialties
Successful completion of Post Anaesthetic Course within the last 3 years
Physical Assessment Course or equivalent
Coronary Care Certificate I or equivalent
Current certification in:o BCLSo Venipucture to start an IVo IV meds below the drip chambero PCAo Epidural analgesia
Demonstrated computer skills in MS Outlook and Cerner applications (Powerchart and Surginet) or equivalent
Willingness to cross train and be scheduled in PACU as required
Excellent assessment skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated commitment to continuous career development and continuing education
Self‑directed and able to work with minimal supervision
Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records

Preferred
Baccalaureate degree in nursing
ACLS
Care of CVP, endotracheal tubes/ventilated extubation of an endotracheal tube
