Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Principal at Biigtigong Nishnaabeg Endzhig-kinoomading (Biigtigong Nishnaabeg Elementary School) the successful candidate will carry out the qualified duties of a teacher and educate students according to the guidelines provided by the Ontario Language & Math Curriculum as well as the locally developed Biigtigong Nishnaabeg Curriculum.

Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers




BA or BSC degree and BED degree with preferred specialization in Junior/Intermediate Level
Experience teaching First Nation students
Transparent Criminal Reference Check upon hire

Duties & Responsibilities:
Deliver complete education programming as per the Ontario Math and Language Curriculum K-8 as well as other curriculum expectations defined by the community curriculum development team (locally developed with land-based & Nishnaabeg focused content)
Work as a team towards educational goals for students and the school community
Fulfil any other duties as defined under the teaching contract of Biigtigong Nishnaabeg Elementary School
