Take on a vital role as a Senior Safety Officer in Yellowknife, NT at the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission. This position emphasizes compliance with safety laws and promotes worker health throughout the region.
As part of the WSCC, you will report to the Supervisor, Safety Officer, and Mines Inspector. Your primary mission will be to ensure adherence to the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Safety Acts. Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and enforce adherence to safety legislation
• Conduct safety reviews and field inspections
• Educate stakeholders on applicable safety standards
• Collaborate on safety policy development
• Organize and prioritize health and safety initiatives
Requirements:
• Two-year diploma from a recognized institution
• CRSP designation is an asset
• At least five years in health and safety roles
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
• Thorough understanding of safety acts and regulations
