Edmonton Transit Service is seeking skilled automotive or heavy-duty mechanics eager to transition into the LRT field. You will play an essential role in ensuring the reliability of light rail vehicles by performing inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs. Our comprehensive 12-month training program prepares you to succeed in diagnosing and addressing mechanical and electrical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections on light rail vehicles
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures
• Conduct emergency repairs on electric transit vehicles
• Complete modifications and track tests on vehicles
• Maintain accurate records using Fleet Management System Software
Requirements:
• Certified Alberta Journeyperson in Heavy Duty or Automotive Mechanics
• Experience with electrically powered vehicles
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License
• Solid problem-solving and communication skills
