Are you a Child & Youth Mental Health & Substance Use Clinician looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a recent and dynamic workplace? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Specialized Services department. In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Youth Inpatient Services Team Lead or designate, in collaboration with the Clinical Practice Lead (CPL) of Pediatrics, and as a member of the Pediatrics Allied Health Team, the incumbent will work collaboratively with the UHNBC acute teams (Peds, ER, APAU, NYTP) to provide holistic support to children and youth admitted to Pediatrics in crisis related to mental health and/or substance use issues, as well as pediatric patients admitted and living with chronic disease and pain. In collaboration with the child/youth, caregiver, inter-disciplinary team and community,
the incumbent will create, coordinate and implement care and discharge plans for children and youth. Additionally, the incumbent will provide support, guidance and education to the child/youth and their family throughout the hospital admission on Pediatrics. The incumbent will be expected to work within the frameworks of Person and Family-Centered Care, Trauma-Informed Practice, Harm Reduction, Psycho-Social Rehabilitation and Brief Action Planning. This position requires robust interpersonal, problem solving, crisis management and system navigation skills, as well as flexibility and a strong commitment to connect with and support youth and families dealing with complex situations. Shift Rotation/Hours of work:
Days, Nights - 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, Rotating
