Opportunity

Duration of co‑op: 8, 12, or 16 months.

Responsibilities

- Operational support and resources for the EHS team.
- Compile and submit project Accident/Incident reports, ensuring proper filing and tracking per the EHS program.
- Follow up on corrective actions related to incident and accident reporting.
- Coordinate and deliver site Employee Safety Meetings.
- Upload Safety Documentation into assigned files and maintain them for audit purposes.
- Assist in generating and improving safety reporting.
- Perform Field Behavioral Based Observations (BBOs).
- Support EHS personnel with field walk‑downs and site inspections.
- Follow up on workplace inspections.
- Propose innovations to improve site safety.
- Support administrative tasks for site orientation.
- Coordinate distribution of PPE supplies when required.
- Participate in EHS program improvements.




- Provide regular feedback to the Safety Manager on activities and reporting status to identify improvement areas.
- Assist with start‑up of new work areas or projects, including preparation of necessary documentation for reporting and program maintenance.
- Guide recent advisors and supervisors in reporting and tracking processes.

Qualifications

- Enrolled in a university or college degree/diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Experience in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of construction site safety requirements and/or provincial legislation is an asset.
- Valid G licence required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report preparation.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work effectively with minimal direction.
- Effective organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines in a high‑pressure environment.
- Collaborative team approach and ability to build successful relationships with clients and project teams.

Salary

The expected pay range for this role is $23–$28 per hour. Individual pay is determined by factors such as location, education, experience, unique skills, and job conditions.
