Join CTYS as the Youth Justice Mental Health Access Coordinator, focusing on providing critical mental health assessments and interventions. This full time role requires flexibility to support youth and families in the Greater Toronto Area.
In this permanent position, you will engage with youth referred from Open Detention and Custody sites across the GTA. Collaborating with parents and detention staff, you will develop individualized service plans using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. Your expertise will be essential in guiding youth toward necessary psychological or psychiatric assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct mental health assessments for youth in detention facilities
• Develop individualized service and treatment plans
• Provide psychoeducation to youth and families
• Facilitate monthly psycho-educational workshops for staff
• Support ongoing therapeutic connections for youth
Requirements:
• Graduate degree in Social Work or related field
• Minimum three years in children's mental health
• Experience with anti-oppressive frameworks
• Competence in trauma-informed mental health assessments
• Valid Ontario driver’s license with vehicle access
