About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Flight Safety to spearhead the establishment and leadership of the Flight Safety function for a next-generation orbital launch program. This pivotal role involves owning the safety strategy from the early development of the vehicle to its launch operations, ensuring that safety is ingrained in all aspects of the program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the organization's flight safety philosophy, regulatory strategy, and technical safety case, as well as building and leading the Flight Safety team. Key responsibilities include executing the overall flight safety strategy, leading safety activities such as hazard analysis, and interacting with regulatory authorities. The role demands a seasoned aerospace safety leader with a strong background in flight safety, range safety, mission assurance, or system safety engineering,



and a deep understanding of the technical and regulatory aspects of launch safety.

Applicants for the Head of Flight Safety position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a relevant safety engineering field, with a focus on high-consequence flight environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supporting complex aerospace programs, including launch vehicles and missile systems, and possess a strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards. Hands-on experience with safety analysis techniques such as PRA, FTA, FMECA, and debris modeling is essential, as is the ability to influence multidisciplinary engineering teams. A degree in aerospace, mechanical, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline is required, and experience with safety modeling tools and regulatory environments is desirable.
